DeepMIP-Eocene Phase 2 experimental design published

I am really pleased to say that the paper describing the model experimental design for Phase 2 of DeepMIP-Eocene has been published in GMD:
https://gmd.copernicus.org/articles/19/6143/2026/
This includes the very latest version of the paleogeographies and vegetation, which were modified slightly during the review process, and which can be found on zenodo, here:
https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21066096  (note that if this is updated in future, the very latest version is always available from here: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.17899194 )

A huge thanks to all involved in this, but a extra special thanks to Nicky Wright, who did a massive amount of work on the new paleogeography, integrating multiple different reconstructions into a global field that is truly state-of-the-art, and also consistent with the Miocene reconstruction that she also produced (see Natalie’s recent email).

This means that groups can start now with their simulations – it’ll be super-interesting to see how this new Phase compares with the previous work, and with the proxy reconstructions!  Do get in touch if anyone has any questions….
